Instrument, which Heron describes in his work Pneumatika (B,18). It served for the removal of pus, for enemas and injections; ancestor of today's syringe. Despite the great evolution of the medical science, mostly in pathology and anatomy, during the Hellenistic Times, there is no report on a similar instrument, which is considered to be an invention of Heron, in the 1st century.
